These big, bare walls have been glaring at me for some time now. Since I unexpectedly found myself stuck at home with a sick kid today, I decided to do something about those walls. It's not much, but it's what I had around the house and my girl is going to love it. She is always making pictures and things and I never know what to do with them. Now she can proudly display them in her room. I also think that I need to tweak the height of the yellow pom-poms, but that may have to wait for another day.

The Quilt in the room
Remember forever ago when I posted the picture of the cute fabric and claimed that I was making a quilt for my sweet girl? Well, it's finally done. I even managed to finally paint her room. Now she has a cute bed and her walls are no longer half unfinished drywall/ half boy blue color. My girl is happy.

"S"
Two years ago I bought this large "S" from JoAnn's. Last night I finally finished it and I have to say that it turned out rather well. I originally painted it with a brown base and then a white topcoat so that the cracks were brown, but the white just disappeared into the light blue wall. So, I slapped some more coats of white paint on top of that, added some more crackle, and then the brown. Much, much better. I hope to have other little "S" friends to join this one in the future.
On a side note, I also bought another mirror to go in my bedroom (yet another room that has absolutely zero decorating). I'll post a picture of the mirror as soon as my man hangs it.

I live in a showroom
I added a mirror. It's not my favorite mirror, but the price was right and it works for now. Unfortunately, now I feel like I live in a furniture store showroom, except not as poorly decorated. I just need to figure out how to bring my personality to the rest of this wall and to the mirror. I am thinking about hanging a coffee filter wreath in front of the mirror. I also need to figure out what to do on either side of the mirror.
