Photography

There's nothing like the fear that comes from knowing you are going to be taking someone's wedding pictures to kick you in the hind quarters and make you pick up your camera after hardly using it at all for the last year. With this I have learned a valuable lesson, skills not used are skills lost. I don't know what has happened, but I am having the hardest time right now getting my pictures to turn out how I want them and how I know they can be and so I forsee a lot of time being dedicated to photography over the next 7 weeks. Here are some shots I have taken and enhanced in the last couple of weeks with the disclosure that I am not super happy with the sharpness and clarity. Those are the two main issues I am having right now, also my tendency to over-enhance. Grrrrrr.

I made a hat for my girl

Since the last hat that I made for my girl two years ago is now too small, I decided to make her a new one.  Her favorite color is orange, but I didn't have enough orange yarn for a whole hat and so I mixed it with a little yellow.  Very cheery don't you think?  I think I will crochet a lot more this winter.  I forgot how much fun it is for me.

These big, bare walls have been glaring at me for some time now.  Since I unexpectedly found myself stuck at home with a sick kid today, I decided to do something about those walls.  It's not much, but it's what I had around the house and my girl is going to love it.  She is always making pictures and things and I never know what to do with them.  Now she can proudly display them in her room.   I also think that I need to tweak the height of the yellow pom-poms, but that may have to wait for another day.
